Diamond Kitchen – in The Diamond, by the main entrance.
Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm; Sat-Sun, 9am-5pm.

Jessop Café – in Jessop West next door to The Diamond and the Jessop Building.
Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm.

Tamper Coffee – tiny Kiwi café serving excellent coffee on Westfield Terrace.
Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm; Sat, 9am-4pm; Sun, 10am-4pm.

The university also operates many other cafes across campus, and there are numerous pubs and cafes on Glossop Rd / West St and Devonshire St / Division St about 5 minutes’ walk from The Diamond.


In the city centre

Blue Moon Café – highly regarded vegetarian and vegan café on St James Row.
Mon-Sat, 8am-8pm.

Marmadukes – outstanding café/bistro/deli on Norfolk Row.
Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm; Sun, 10am-4pm.

Noodle Inn Centro – Chinese extensively patronised by our East Asian students on Westfield Terrace.
Sun-Sat: 11am-10pm

Butlers' Balti House – North Indian curries on Broad Lane.
Sun-Thu, 5pm-12am; Fri-Sat, 5pm-1am.

Maveli – South Indian curries on West St.
Mon-Thu, 5pm-10:30pm; Fri-Sat, 5pm-11pm; Sun, 5pm-10:30pm

The University Arms – decent pub food with excellent selection of local ales on Brook Hill.
Mon-Thu, noon-11pm; Fri-Sat, noon-midnight;

Student’s Union – café, bars, canteen, restaurant, sandwich shop, on Western Bank 

Bloo 88 – retro pizzas and cocktails on West St. Mon-Thu, 11am-1am; Fri-Sat, 11am-2am; Sun, noon-midnight. Food until 10pm (Sun-Thur) & 9pm (Fri-Sat).

The Bath Hotel – not really for food this one, but one of the best real ale pubs in Sheffield

Dam House – spacious pub in quiet surroundings looking out to Crookes Valley Park; often has space when other places are full!


City centre and further afield (but worth the trip)

Aagrah – smart curry chain on Leopold Square (where there are also several more smart restaurants).
Mon-Thu, 5:30pm -11:30pm; Fri-Sat, 5:30pm-midnight; Sun, 4:30pm-10:30pm

Ego – Mediterranean restaurant next to the Winter Gardens (several more smart restaurants at either end of the Winter Gardens).
Noon-10.30pm, every day.

Pasta Bar – tiny but highly regarded Italian restaurant on Sharrow Vale Road
Tue-Thu, 5pm-10pm; Fri-Sun, noon-10pm 

Thyme Café – outstanding bistro/restaurant, probably the best menu in the city, on Glossop Road in Broomhill
Mon-Fri, 11am-3pm, 5pm-9:30pm (open 3pm-5pm for coffee & cake); Sat 11am-10pm; Sun 12pm-8pm. Open from 10am every day for coffee.
