Elizabeth was born in Huddersfield and began piano lessons at the age of 4 with Dame Fanny Waterman. She studied music at Durham University and at the Royal Northern College of Music. While still at school Elizabeth was playing extensively in public and also started to teach privately. After completing her studies, she joined the staff at the Huddersfield Technical College Department of Music where she was involved with several music tours abroad. In 1992 she became the Head of Keyboard Studies there. In 2000, Elizabeth moved to Aberdeen, performing and accompanying throughout the north. Her many teaching commitments included Aberdeen University. She now lives in the Scottish Borders and is teaching at Belhaven Hill School and Durham University. Elizabeth joined the Department of Music at the Sheffield as an instrumental tutor in 2010.
