Visiting the NFCA
The Reading Room is open to everyone with eight study spaces, two computers and a seating area for visitors wishing to browse our books and journals.

Building Closures for Improvements to the Heating and Cooling System
The Western Bank Library is undergoing essential work to provide a better study, work and research environment to all its users. The improvement of the heating and cooling system will take place between Monday 10th June and Saturday 5th October 2019. Please notice that the building will be closed during this period.
The National Fairground and Circus Archive will continue to operate its reading room but will be unable to host visitors without previous booking due to access restrictions.

Monday to Wednesday: 9:30am - 4:30pm (closed for lunch 1pm - 2pm)
Thursday: visits by appointment only (dependent on staff availability)
Friday to Sunday: Closed
Booking your Visit
Although our reading room is open to all ‘walk-in’ visitors we highly recommend advanced bookings. This will enable us to provide you with relevant research material, retrieve collections and book any necessary equipment contact us.
It is highly recommended that you book a computer if you wish to use our specialist websites and electronic resources.
Microfilm readers, film viewing and audio equipment must be booked in advance.

- Please bring a form of photographic identification with you to present at the Library information desk in order to obtain a pass into the library
