We offer a range of taught postgraduate programmes in the fields of translational oncology, human nutrition, vision & strabismus, reproductive and developmental medicine and musculoskeletal ageing.

Some of our courses are full-time study but we also have part-time by distance learning programmes too.

Musculoskeletal Ageing

This unique 1 year MRes course is a collaboration between the universities of Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle. Students can choose to study remotely at home for the first semester of taught modules or come to Sheffield. They then complete their research project in Sheffield in the second semester.

Reproductive and Developmental Medicine

This one year MSc course combines the clinical and research strengths within the unit with contributions from other science departments at the University and the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and have the opportunity to visit the Jessop Fertility assisted conception unit.

Translational Oncology

This MSc(Res) course is offered as both a one year full-time or two year part time course providing students with a thorough grounding in five core components of Translational Oncology and also providing them with a springboard for their future career.

Human Nutrition

The MSc course gives students a thorough grounding in five core components of Human Nutrition through taught modules.

Students gain direct research experience by carrying out a five month empirical research project and are equipped with the necessary skills to work as nutritionists within community, industrial, academic and research settings.

Vision & Strabismus

An MMedSci/PG Diploma distance learning course designed for Orthoptists and eye care professionals to enhance their learning and develop new areas of expertise and where students can learn skills beyond registration alongside their work allowing them to study for a higher degree without relinquishing their clinical posts.
