Academic Unit of Urology
The Academic Urology Unit was established in Sheffield in 1999.
The Unit has expertise in the management of urological malignancies, specifically prostate and bladder cancer. The unit includes a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians, based within the Medical School, that are engaged in researching the biology of bladder cancer, optimising the treatment of this disease and refining the role of surgery in prostate cancer. The Academic Urology Unit has laboratory facilities and expertise, within the Department of Oncology, and runs clinical trials through a network of highly trained nurses.
