Carole Elliot wins the Laura Bierema Excellence in Critical HRD Award

The Laura Bierema Excellence in Critical HRD Award will seek to honor a critical Human Resource Development (HDR) scholar or practitioner who has demonstrated research and activism with impact in HRD. The award aims to acknowledge those scholars and HRD professionals who actively challenge field and industry norms while advancing important social justice perspectives and principles.

Professor Elliott’s edited collection, ‘Critical Thinking and Human Resource Development’, was influential in introducing critical theory to HRD scholarship and practice in general and in particular to the US audience.

Professor Elliott said, “it’s an honour and a privilege to have my work recognised in this way and I would like to thank my colleagues for their support and mentorship.”
