Professor Miranda Fricker has been elected Fellow of the British Academy – the UK’s prestigious national body which champions and supports the humanities and social sciences.

Miranda works in ethics, social epistemology, feminism and political philosophy. She currently holds a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship, and is writing a book on blame and forgiveness.

The British Academy is a fellowship of around 1,300 leading national and international academics elected for their distinction in the humanities and social sciences.

Miranda said: "It's an honour to be given this opportunity to contribute to the Academy's work in supporting independent-minded research in the humanities and social sciences."
