Combining Philosophy with other subjects
Philosophy is particularly well suited to being combined in a dual-honours degree. The study of philosophy emphasises skills such as clear expression, precise argument, critical thinking, and problem-solving, which can be a great asset in other subjects. You can combine Philosophy with the following 13 subjects:
*These programmes can be studied as a flexible dual.
The wide range of topics studied in philosophy also makes it possible to find philosophy modules closely related to your dual subject. For instance, the philosophy of science is relevant to physics and mathematics; the philosophy of language bears on linguistics and modern languages; aesthetics is directly relevant to the study of literature and film; the history of philosophy bears politics, economics, and of course history. The flexibility of our degrees means that you can also choose modules unconnected with your dual subject.
