Ethics and History of Philosophy

Discussing ethics in the context of History of Philosophy, and the role of philosophy in social and moral progress (if any). Meta-ethics, not in its traditional context, but in the context of historicity is one the main themes in our readings.

Feminism

Meet once a week to discuss articles on the subjects of feminist philosophy, the philosophy of race, the philosophy of disability, and the philosophy of sexuality. We also sometimes host guest speakers, whose work forms the basis of discussion for the session.

We read widely within the pragmatist tradition. Recently we've been interested in the relationship between pragmatism and the German idealism, and in exploring the work of lesser-known figures in the tradition.
