Profile: Robbie Morgan
I'm currently a University Teacher in Feminist Philosophy, having taken my BA (2013), MA (2014), and PhD (2019) in Philosophy at The University of Sheffield. My philosophical interests include feminist philosophy, philosophy of sex, applied ethics, and political philosophy. In my PhD thesis I aimed to explain the special and serious wrongness of sexual offences.
I'm currently working on some projects in philosophy of sex and at the intersection of philosophy of sex and feminism. This includes papers on the following:
- The distinction between sexual and non-sexual attacks. What makes non-consensual contact sexual.
- The phenomenon of unwanted consensual sex and how we should incorporate this into discussions of what it is for acts to be sexual.
- The concept of sexualisation as complementary to the concept of sexual objectification.
- The value of consensual desired sexual contact.
