Hong Kong Scholarship Awards Success for Politics Student
A Politics student who is spending the current academic year studying abroad was recently formally awarded with a Scholarship for Excellence at a special reception held in Hong Kong.
Christopher Yates, studying BA International Relations and Politics, was one of four students from the University of Sheffield to receive a Scholarship for Excellence, which is awarded on a competitive basis to UK students currently undertaking a year in Hong Kong as part of their degrees. Christopher (pictured far left with fellow scholarship winners) was recently presented with an award by the British Consul General and Education Secretary of the Hong Kong government.
The Scholarships for Excellence, worth up to £4,000 depending on how long students stay in Hong Kong, are an excellent opportunity for students studying at higher education institutions in England to spend from a semester up to a year studying in Hong Kong as part of their degrees.
Christopher said: “I am very happy to be given the scholarship – it’s not often you can be given a scholarship of this size and it means that my plans to travel next year are now much more affordable.”
