What you can expect

You'll be able to network with students and alumni. Get advice on applying for a PhD at Sheffield. Find out about funding opportunities and learn how your Sheffield PhD experience could help shape your future.

We can also provide general guidance and help with applying for a PhD, although our PhD supervisors won't be at the open evening.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

Your day, your way

Our Open Evening is completely flexible.

Drop in at any time or stay all evening. You can choose the activities that are most important to you, and you can do them in any order you like.

All you need to do is register when you arrive at INOX.

All activities take place in INOX and Discovery Rooms in the Students’ Union Building, Level 5 (map ref 120).

If you want to pick up a PhD prospectus or get information about any aspect of PhD study at Sheffield, this is your one-stop shop. We’ll have staff from our key PhD support services and faculties to guide you on PhD opportunities, how to apply, PhD funding, careers, our researcher development programmes and more.
