Pint of Science 2019

Call for speakers and demonstrators

The Pint of Science Team at the University are now preparing for Pint of Science 2019 and are looking for researchers from all faculties with ideas for fun and engaging talks and demonstrations based on their current research.

What is Pint of Science?

Pint of Science is an annual festival that takes place over three evenings in multiple cities around the world. In 2019 the festival will run from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May. The aim of Pint of Science is to present fun, interesting and relevant talks and activities based on the latest research in an accessible format to the public, in a pub setting.

Why take part in Pint of Science?

I found this the most enjoyable outreach activity I have done.

Pint of science 2017 speaker

Pint of Science is a great platform for public engagement and offers academics a time- and resource-efficient way to engage new audiences with their research and create a dialogue with the public.

Feedback from researchers who took part in the 2018 festival was overwhelmingly positive and 100% of respondents to our speaker survey said they would recommend taking part in Pint of Science to a colleague.
