Using document creation

Document Creation allows you to order a job from a number of print files or components. You can locate single or multiple files to be included in your job by using the ‘browse’ button before uploading them to print. When all your files have been added to your job you can proceed to the next screen, which allows you to define your binding style, for example, stapling, saddle-stitching, perfect binding, wiro-binding or comb-binding (thesis binding options are available in the ‘Thesis’ section). Once you have chosen your binding options you will be taken to a further screen where you can build your book components by defining which pages of the file are the cover, which sections are colour or mono (B&W) and select your stock. Once the job is created you can click the ‘Add to Cart and Order’ button, the shopping cart will appear, enabling you to get quotes and complete the ordering process. Please note that in ‘define components’ you will need to scroll down the screen to check a PDF preview of your submitted file.

Please note:

  • For Black & white printing only - If you require black and white printing only, please select a component type, which is prefixed ‘mono’. Your file will then be charged and printed as black and white only.
  • All uploaded files go through a ‘PDF Preflight’ check, any problems found will appear on screen for you to check before choosing to submit to print. You will have the option to cancel your order and upload a new file, or if you are not concerned about the problems identified you can submit to print which will add the file to your shopping cart.
  • If the finished size of your document differs from your uploaded file a ‘tentative price’ will be displayed. However, the correct price will have been calculated. It is always advisable to set up your document to the finished size before you upload it.
