A student must normally achieve a weighted mean grade of 60 or above at Level 2 in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Civil Engineering with Study Abroad Year (CIVU28), progression being at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.  A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted to become instead a student for either the Degree of MEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU16) or the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17)

A student must pass CIV4000 Individual Research Project at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Civil Engineering with Study Abroad Year (CIVU28). A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be permitted by the Faculty to be awarded the Degree of BEng in Civil Engineering (CIVU17) but will be ineligible for the award of that Degree with Honours.
