Units at 1B and 1C will only be available subject to numbers of students and timetabling constraints, at the discretion of the owning department


1E.

A student who has been awarded 120 credits in respect of units listed at 1A, 1B and 1C will be eligible to proceed to the second year of the programme. A student who has gained a minimum of 105 credits in respect of units listed at 1A, 1B and 1C above, with no unit mark below 40%, may be allowed to proceed to the second year of the programme with the agreement of the board of examiners.

 

 

Year 2


2A

A student will take units to the value of 120 credits from 2Ai OR 2Aii.


2Ai

EEE6605, F7, MSc Integrative Biodesign Project, 90 credits.

Any modules not already taken from 1C or any F7 modules from 1B to the value of 30 credits.


2Aii

EEE6606, F7, MSc Interdisciplinary Research Project, 120 credits.


3.

A student who takes EEE6605 may, with the permission of the Head of Department, substitute the remaining 30 credits with EEE6238 (External Placement).


4.

In order to be eligible for the award of the MSc in Bioengineering: Biomedical Imaging & Sensing (EEET36), a student must gain at least 210 credits across Years 1 and 2 (with no unit mark below 40%).


5.

A student who has been awarded 120 credits in respect of units listed at 1A, 1B and 1C, but does not pass EEE6605 or EEE6606, will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Bioengineering: Biomedical Imaging & Sensing (EEET37).


6.

A student who has been awarded 60 credits in respect of units listed at 1A, 1B and 1C above will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Bioengineering: Biomedical Imaging & Sensing (EEET38).


7.

In the event of failure in EEE6605 or EEE6606 (MSc Projects) at the first attempt, any resubmission is subject to the approval of the Board of Examiners.
