3B

A student will undertake a period of study abroad of 1 academic year. Individual units are taken at the partner university for the year and are chosen to firstly; cover the core material of the equivalent year at the University of Sheffield (UoS), and secondly; to prepare the student for study in the following year of the student's degree programme at UoS.

3C

A student will be responsible for securing a suitable placement in a University overseas in order to take the study abroad year. The placement and course of study will be subject to the approval of the Head of Department. A student who fails to obtain a suitable placement will instead be required to become a student for the Degree of MEng Microelectronics (EEEU10).

3D

The marks obtained in the units taken during the study abroad year will be converted to an equivalent University of Sheffield grade, the conversion being approved by the Board of Examiners.
