Note: The following Regulations should be read in conjunction with Assessment Regulations agreed with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

This programme of study is non-modular.

 


1

A person may be admitted as a student who has completed the academic stage of legal education as defined by the regulations of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

A student will pursue the programme of study for forty-one weeks of full-time study or two years part-time.

Notwithstanding Regulation 2 above, a student may enrol for just Stage 1, just Stage 2, or just one or two of the elective subjects in Stage 2.  Such a student will not normally be eligible for the award of a Postgraduate Diploma.

The assessment shall consist of:

a) one subject assessment in each core practice area and each of the elective areas being studied by each student (each subject assessment may consist of more than one paper);

b) one examination or other form of supervised assessment in each of: (i) Professional conduct, the profession, money laundering and financial services; and (ii) Solicitors’ accounts

c) one assessment in each of the Skills and Wills and Administration of Estates.

The Examiners may recommend the award of Masters with distinction or commendation.
