A student for the Degree of LLM (Extended Programme) must normally pass fortycredits from the units in regulation 1A to include ELT5312 and ELT5401, progression in this regard being at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.


1E

A student for the Degree of LLM (Extended Programme) must pass at least fifteen credits in total under regulations 1B and 1C above in order to proceed to Year 2.

In order to be eligible for the award of a degree with a designated specialist pathway, namely, LLM in Law (Corporate and Commercial Law), LLM in Law (European Law) or LLM in Law (International Law and Global Justice) students will be required to take units to the value of ninety credits from 2E, 2F or 2G, respectively. In addition, the student must write her or his dissertation on a topic that in the opinion of the Head of School (or her or his delegate) contributes to developing expertise within the relevant pathway.

In the event that a student is eligible for the award of a degree with more than one designated specialist pathway he or she will be required to elect the single pathway (if any) that he or she wishes to appear on his or her degree transcript.

A student who has been awarded one hundred and twenty credits in respect of units listed at 1B, 1C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Law. A student who been awarded at least ninetyof these credits from the subjects listed at 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Corporate and Commercial Law), the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (European Law) or the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (International Law and Global Justice), respectively.

A student who has been awarded sixty credits in respect of units listed 1B, 1C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G above will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Law. A student who has completed all of these credits from the subjects listed at 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G will be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Law (Corporate and Commercial Law), the Postgraduate Certificate in Law (European Law) or the Postgraduate Certificate in Law (International Law and Global Justice), respectively.
