Before proceeding to Level 3, a student for the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Italian (MECU007) must achieve an average mark of 60 in their chosen language modules (twenty credits) and an average of 55 across the remaining one hundred credits at Level 2. A student failing to meet this criteria will be required to change Programme to the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU001) provided that they meet the department regulations for continuation on the MEng Programme of Study.
6
A student must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to progression in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Italian (MECU007). A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).
7
A student must pass MEC401 (Individual Project) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Italian. A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be awarded the Degree of BEng in Mechanical Engineering (MECU002).
8
Grades awarded in respect of units listed at 3 above will carry the same weight as grades awarded at Level 2.
9
The Modern Languages Teaching Centre will assist the student in the selection of appropriate language units based on prior knowledge, language chosen and programme taken.
