Credit level: F7
Additional Information   Only available for students studying CIVT104 and for PhD students taking as part of their doctoral development.

Description

This module is for students undertaking the MSc in Architectural Engineering design. The aim of the module is to build on learning from other units, bringing them together in an integrated design project. The module takes a defined urban location and client brief, asking students to create and develop design solutions for a low carbon building. Students will consider the urban environment in which they're designing, and how this affects their building design, and then develop their proposed solution within the given climatic, social and economic constraints of the location. Students will need to integrate environmental engineering with an appreciation of structural and architectural design, in order to develop a low carbon building design which responds to the client brief. Students will conduct their own research during the course of the project in order to inform, and justify their proposed design solutions.
