CIV6215   Structural Design   (15 credits)

Year Running: 2017/2018
Credit level: F7
Pre-requisites for   CIV6275   (when the module is running)

Description

This module is designed to give students an up-to-date knowledge and a skills base related to the structural design of concrete and steel structural members. Significant emphasis in this unit is to impart a fundamental understanding of how structural members work, so that the engineer will develop a feel for behaviour of the structure that is often missing when design is based solely by using codes of practice or by the direct application of prescribed equations.
