Description

This module aims at making students familiar with the methods, reasoning and materials used in German law and at enhancing students' abilities in understanding, speaking and writing German, with an emphasis on German legal terminology. The module gives an introduction to legal education, to the sources of law, to the public/private dichotomy and to the court structure. It also includes the study of constitutional law, administrative law, private law and criminal law, with reference to the relevant political and historical context. The module is taught in German, with extensive use of German legal materials.
