Description

This module introduces students to the Spanish legal system and the main components of Spanish law in preparation for further in-depth study of Spanish domestic law during the students' year abroad. Taught in the Spanish language, the module provides students with the terminology, characteristics and classifications of Spanish law within its civil law system. It also emphasizes the study of the Spanish institutions through the analysis of the Spanish Constitution. Finally, it provides an understanding of the differences between the study and practice of law in the Spanish civil law system as opposed to the English common law system.
