Description

This core module for MSc Engineering with Industrial Management students introduces students to the analysis of engineering businesses, through interrogation of financial and operational performance. This sets the scene to develop students' problem-finding ability. Students will consider their individual decision-making effectiveness, will look at how groups reach decisions, and at how structured decision-making techniques help engineers find problems and prioritise action. The module involves small group working for active learning, applying tools to range of operation and maintenance problems. The module orients multinational students to UK postgraduate study and establishes a cohort as the foundation for social learning.
