Clinical Psychology Open Day for Psychology Graduates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Communities

Tuesday 16th June 2020 9.30-12.30

Online – via Zoom (University of Leeds)

The Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Psychology Training Programmes are hosting a webinar for Psychology graduates from BAME communities accessing Clinical Psychology. If you could circulate the event details that would be greatly appreciated and if you have any further questions please do contact myself. Below are the details for the event.

After the success of previous events the three Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Psychology Training Programmes (at the Universities of Hull, Sheffield, and Leeds) are offering a further day to inform and encourage Psychology graduates (including students graduating this academic year) who identify as belonging to BAME communities who are interested in a career in Clinical Psychology.

Data and experience show that people from BAME communities continue to be under-represented in the profession of Clinical Psychology.

The webinar event will consist of Clinicians, Trainees, and Tutors will present and facilitate discussion on:

  • Working in the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist from a BAME community
  • Reflections on experience and on application and interview processes
  • Q&A session with staff from the Hull, Leeds, and Sheffield doctorate programmes
