Weighting of research impact confirmed for 2014 Research Excellence Framework

The Research Excellence Framework 2014 has announced that 20% (this will increase in subsequent REFs) will be allocated for positive impact of research. The assessment of the impact of research will be based on expert review of case studies submitted by HEIs.

Within these case studies there is scope to include the sharing of data more widely within the immediate academic community and with other organisations and the public at large. In other words demonstrable impact that is over and above traditional research outputs.
