Sheffield seemed a great balance of a city and outdoor spaces, like the Peak District. The course had a great reputation and on the open day it was clear the students loved the university, so I just knew I’d really love being here!

During my undergraduate we were able to pick some modules that were aligned with our interests. I chose Child Development and Clinical Psychology modules and these set a great foundation for the work I then did after university such as applying attachment theory when working with looked after children.

As many do, I couldn’t resist staying in Sheffield after my undergraduate and was fortunate enough to gain a place on the clinical doctorate at Sheffield.

Currently I’m in my first year and have just finished my Older Adult placement which was in a memory service. This was a totally new area of psychology for me but great to learn more about!

After the course, I’m hoping to initially have a bit of a break! Long-term I hope to stay in Sheffield, but I’m keeping my options open as to what area I’d like go into as there’s still a lot of areas I’ve not yet worked in!
