The applications process
Here is a summary of the various stages involved in applying to study at Sheffield:
June - September
Getting the ball rolling
The University Open Days take place during this period. Book a place so that you can see our department, see the University and its facilities, find out about your accommodation and get a sense of Sheffield as a city.
The UCAS form
Arrive at your final list of Universities, then complete and submit your UCAS form. Use the UCAS Course Search to find out additional details about courses, deadlines etc.
Once we receive your UCAS form, you'll receive an acknowledgment and we will carefully review your application, which may take a few weeks. Those applicants who meet our criteria will be invited to a departmental Open Day. During your visit you will receive more details about the course to which you’ve applied. You will also be able to discuss your application with our staff. If you are eligible you can also apply to us via UCAS Extra during the period February-July.
Making your choices
During this period, you are required by UCAS to make firm and insurance choices for any courses for which you applied. (The deadline for any UCAS Extra courses is later.)
We will review the results from all applicants as soon as the A-level results are published and we will then contact you with our decision.
