It is important to recognise what we all achieve.  Think Ahead values the opportunity to celebrate success and to give recognition.

We want to share the successes of Think Ahead, schemes under its umbrella, of team members, early career researchers and our colleagues who support researcher development.

Below are a collection of current celebrations.  Click on the image or title to find out more.

2016 Student Union Academic Awards logo

Dr Kay Guccione has won the 'Employability Award' at the 2016 Students' Union Academic Awards.

The reason for the accolade is that, "Kay has done more to open the eyes of PGRs to the complex and varied world of postdoctoral employment than anyone else at this university. She organises PhD graduates to come and speak to current PGRs about their current careers. She is continually conducting research on PGR employability and directly using her own findings to develop her own mentorship programmes tailored towards supporting students in gaining successful employment after university. She has single handedly changed the face of PGR career development at this university."

An award from the Enterprise Educators UK Research Project Fund

We are delighted that Eunice Lawton (RDM in Faculty of Engineering) has won an award to develop 'The Socially Enterprising Researcher Scheme'.

This is to develop a training programme to prepare researchers to carry out a social enterprise project that uses their research to help local communities and thereby increase engagement of PhD students and research staff in Enterprise Education.
