R&IS provides support for research partnerships through knowledge exchange, account management and co-ordination of sector specific partnerships.
At the University the majority of support for the development of research partnerships is undertaken at individual faculty level and forms part of their Impact, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (IIKE) activities.
Support to local faculty Knowledge Exchange delivery teams
We oversee the allocation of external funding to faculties to support partnerships and provide an oversight of a University-wide ‘pipeline’: working with local teams to understand the growing relationships and what they need to flourish. We also provide management information and training and guidance.
Support for relationships that require institutional account management
We provide account/relationship management with individual companies who require a single point of contact, someone who is responsible for the relationship at an institutional level, for example with Siemens and Airbus.
Co-ordinating sector specific partnerships
We support instances where a sectoral approach to partnerships is preferred, providing co-ordinated University-wide engagement with stakeholders across a sector, for example Sheffield Water Centre and the HEFCE Catalayst Fund.
We're helping to support the development of research projects which can deliver economic impact. Join us to shape the future of the Sheffield City Region's economy through engagement with external stakeholders & organisations. The MD Club> Anchor institutions bid> Showcasing our economic impact>
