Select outputs for review in the REF Stocktake
myPublications is being used to support the REF Stocktake Exercise. Please follow the process below to nominate your outputs.
Choose REF Stocktake from 'Build' box under the 'Menu' tab.
The Stocktake home page shows relevant guidance (1) and a summary of any outputs selected. Click 'View list' to view outputs (2).
You will see a list of outputs that have been selected for the REF Stocktake. If you participated in the 2016 Stocktake, then your previous selections will be shown. Click 'Select items' (4) to add or change outputs.
All your outputs since 1 January 2014 are listed. You can search and filter them using the options on the right. If an output is not listed, you may need to add it to myPublications. Choose the outputs to be reviewed by clicking Select for Outputs within the record (5). When you are finished, click Done (6).
You may wish to add some additional information to each output (e.g. descriptions of non-text outputs). Click the orange box within the record (7) to begin the process.
Researchers in the Faculty of Engineering must add the '100 word' statements for each selected output. The Engineering sub-panels are unique in considering that the nature of their disciplines is such that the significance of an output may not be evident within the output itself. They therefore invite factual information to be provided (maximum 100 words) that could include, for example, additional evidence about how an output has gained recognition, led to further developments, or has been applied. Such evidence must be succinct, verifiable, and externally referenced where appropriate. Where claims are made relating to the industrial significance of the output, the name and contact details of a senior industrialist must be given to allow verification of claims. Information provided should not comprise a synopsis of the output or a volunteered opinion as to the quality of the output, and information provided that is of this nature will be disregarded.
Enter the necessary information (8) and then click either 'Save and continue' to enter information for the next output, or 'Save and exit' to return to the Stocktake home page (9).
