Surveys

The University participates in two national surveys, facilitated by Vitae, the purpose of which are to gather the views of researchers at all stages of their careers.

In 2013 Research Staff at the University of Sheffield were once again invited to participate in the Careers in Research Online Survey. The survey seeks to improve the working conditions, career aspirations and professional development opportunities at national and local levels.

Additional consultation

Further consultation on the recommendations included in the report of CROS 2013 took place in early 2014, offering all stakeholders, including those who did not participate in the initial consultation, an opportunity to influence priority areas of change.

PIRLS 2013

The University of Sheffield participated in the Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey (PIRLS) for the first time in 2013. The national survey seeks views and experiences of PIs and RLs in relation to leadership and the management/supervision of research staff and postgraduate researchers.
