Research communication workshops
To help you to tell your research stories confidently and effectively, the researcher development team is pleased to offer a range of workshops to support the KRI competitions. If you think you’d like to enter one (or more!) of the competitions, and want to develop your skills further, please check out the workshops below and book to attend any of them that look useful - they’ll all be taking place online.
Virtual Posters – An Engaging, Graphical (and Short) Story / 25th May, 2pm - 4pm
This interactive workshop will help you to understand the do’s and don’ts of a research poster (for a virtual or face-to-face event). You'll learn to tell a research story in an appealing and relatable manner and gain the confidence to pitch your research in a concise and graphical way. MORE INFO AND BOOKING VIA THE RED ARROW
Online presenting:connecting with the audience & getting your message across, 1st June 1.30 - 3.30PM

Communicating research in accessible and visual ways / 8th June, 2-5pm
This workshop will share a step-by-step process for communicating research to non-academic audiences, drawing on our experience from working with researchers around the world in creating visual and accessible summaries. Presenting data from your research / 15th June, 3-4 pm
This short workshop, delivered by Mihaela Gruia of Research Retold, will outline key principles and concrete tips for presenting data from research in engaging and visual ways, to help you communicate complex ideas clearly to a range of audiences, through a variety of media.
