Vitae has developed a set of pages relating to supervising and managing researchers.  Including a Vitae briefing for managers of researchers (pdf, 413kb) which takes each of the Concordat principles in turn, suggesting areas for consideration and providing illustrative examples of practice from UK institutions.

The Costing Tool

The University's web based costing tool for costing and pricing research related projects, obtaining costing approvals, and post award administration. It is accessible to all registered users and runs on all computer platforms.

There is a dedicated helpline providing help and guidance on both using the system and on costing your research proposal.

Research Data Management

Guidance pages on the management of research data which complement the University of Sheffield Research Data Management Policy. This site includes information and guidance on key components of research data management (RDM) and provides definitions of what is meant by ‘research data’.

Online courses which help you access the information you need, whenever you need it, in a secure way.

They provide techniques to keep information safe and will help you identify potential risks to security.

Developed by external provider, Pansophix, to provide advice on a range of personal development and career development topics.


Juice is the University’s health and wellbeing initiative for staff. It provides a wide range of enjoyable and energising activities, plus lots of resources and advice to help you look after your health. The whole programme is accessed through the Juice platform, where you can explore and book activities, find out about events and discover useful information.
