Changing or leaving your programme

If you are considering changing or leaving your programme of study you should speak to your programme leader or personal tutor as soon as possible. They will help you decide what your best option is. They will also be able to point you to other appropriate sources of support and guidance.

Changing programme

Once you have decided to change your programme, complete the appropriate change of status form and submit it to your programme administrator so that they can arrange for the change to be made.

Leaving your programme

If you decide to withdraw from your programme, complete the appropriate change of status form and submit it to your programme administrator so that they can arrange for your withdrawal to be confirmed.

Taking time out from your studies - Leave of Absence (LOA)

If you need to take time away from your studies to deal with personal challenges, you can take a Leave of Absence. This 'freezes' your period of registration without academic penalty.

Please contact your personal tutor or programme leader if you’re considering taking a LOA.

SSiD provides further guidance on what to do before, during and after a LOA and the support services available.
