I am a PhD student in the Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Centre in Public Health, Economics, and Decision Science at ScHARR.

I initially trained as a Medical Doctor but soon became more interested in research. I completed my doctoral thesis on the relationship between staffing and quality of care in hospitals at the Institute for Health Systems Research at the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany. Subsequently, I did a research masters in health sciences, with a focus on epidemiology and health technology assessment, at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. For my degree, I investigated the heterogeneity of costs and cost trajectories of patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Alongside my studies, I briefly worked as a clinical trial investigator, interned at the World Health Organization in Geneva, and led a research project to monitor influenza in real-time, using digital epidemiology methods at the Netherlands Institute of Health Service Research.

Research interests

My main research interest is in continuously learning health systems. This includes the generation of evidence from real world data, population heterogeneity, statistical learning, and decision modelling.
