Profile

In October 2023 I started working as a Research Associate on an economic model of lung cancer screening in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Since September 2019, I have been a PhD student at the Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Centre for Public Health, Economics and Decision Science. My PhD research has focused on the determinants, costs and outcomes of unmet social care needs among older people in England.

Prior to joining the University of Sheffield, I completed a BA in International Relations and Development Studies at the University of Sussex. I then worked in the non-profit sector in Peru on community development and sexual and reproductive health. Following this I completed a Master of Public Health degree as a scholarship recipient in the Europubhealth Erasmus Mundus programme, at three universities: Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública (Spain), University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique (France).

After my master's programme I worked as an Analyst at NHS Blood and Transplant evaluating marketing activities promoting blood donation. I then worked on systematic reviews for clinical guidelines commissioned by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), on the topics of cystic fibrosis, intrapartum care and postnatal care.

I am fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.

Supervisors for the lung cancer screening modelling work: Dr Duncan Gillespie and Dr Chloe Thomas.
PhD supervisors: Dr Sarah Barnes, Dr Gurleen Popli and Dr Chloe Thomas.
