Profile

I began my studies at the University of Sheffield in September 2015 as a part-time student, undertaking my Master’s in Public Health whilst working full-time as a Commissioning Manager in Public Health, Stoke-on-Trent.

In the summer of 2017 I won a University scholarship to complete my PhD at ScHARR which I am undertaking on a full-time basis.

I have over thirteen years in the public sector with over ten years’ experience of leading strategy, and commissioning services, for substance misuse and community safety.

My Masters dissertation focussed on perceived factors supporting maintained recovery among people who are overcoming alcohol dependence in Stoke on Trent. I adopted a mixed method, explanatory sequential approach, incorporating both a quantitative survey and in-depth qualitative interviews.
