Profile

My first role in the University of Sheffield was in May 1995 as Personal Secretary to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions before moving into the role of Personnel Assistant in the Department of Human Resources.

In July 1998 I started working in the Section of Public Health, ScHARR and am currently the Section Manager.

My main duties are:-

  • Managing all departmental and administrative functions & contributing to the strategic planning of the Section
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining administrative processes and procedures within the Section
  • Participating in key departmental meetings and Away Days
  • Co-ordinating human resource activities within the Section, including: recruitment, induction, SRDS/appraisals, sickness absence and fixed term contract monitoring
  • Monitoring, planning and control of the Section budgets and assisting the Section Director on budget forecasting
  • Overseeing the maintenance editing and updating of the Section website
  • Managing the professional services team within the Section, including recruitment, training and appraisal processes

I currently sit on the following ScHARR Committees:-

  • DRP Panel (Promotions and ECA Awards)
  • Estates and Facilities Committee
  • Senior Administators' Group
  • Health and Safety Committee

I am currently a member of the following Faculty Groups:-
