I am a Trial Manager and mixed methods researcher in CTRU. I also contribute to proposal development (secondment). I am currently the Trial Manager for a multi-centre feasibility study and randomised controlled trial called COMMEND. COMMEND includes two phases: - Phase 1 is adapting Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for people with motor neuron disease (MND) and testing feasibility of recruitment and the acceptability of ACT to people with MND, therapists and carers. Phase 2 will evaluate effectiveness and cost effectiveness of ACT for people with MND in a randomised controlled trial.
Prior to joining the CTRU in September 2011, I worked as a researcher in the NHS delivering research commissioned by NHS Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. I also worked in Local Government commissioning and conducting research projects to support local and sub-regional strategic housing policy on affordable housing, and housing and related support needs. I have a BA (Hons) Sociology and MA Research Methods (Sociology).
