DTS's Dawn Teare completes the BIG WALK
In September, Dawn Teare completed a 286 mile walk home from Kirk Yetholm (Scotland) over 15 days. This walk covered the Pennine Way long distance Path and an additional day walking from Edale into Sheffield. She was part of the BIG WALK University of Sheffield team raising funds for research into a rare form of lung disease. On the final day the Big WALK team were joined for the One Day Challenge by many University colleagues and students who walked the 18 miles from Edale to Sheffield. More than £60,000 has been raised so far (https://www.justgiving.com/teams/thebigwalk2015).
Dawn would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their encouragement and support, especially in the training period. She still has lots of tales to tell so please ask for some gory details when you next see her.
