Multicentre Randomised Controlled Trial of Induced Endometrial Trauma In Women Undergoing First Time In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)

IVF imageCTRU are collaborating with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals managing a new study from December 2015, funded by the HTA.   The Chief Investigator for the study is Dr Mostafa Metwally.

The grant income is £1.3 million and the study duration is 58 months. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of an Endometrial Scratch (ES) performed in the midluteal phase prior to a first-time In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF/ICSI) cycle, on the chances of achieving a clinical pregnancy and live birth.

The ScHARR co-applicants are Dr Tracey Young, Dr Diana Papaioannou and Prof Stephen Walters.
