Welcome to Jane Candlish

We are pleased to welcome Jane Candlish to DTS as a PhD student. Jane is fully funded through the University of Sheffield, Harry Worthington Scholarship and started her studies in October. Her PhD research will focus on statistical design and analysis when evaluating complex proportionate interventions (supervised by Dawn Teare and Judith Cohen).

Jane was previously an undergraduate at Sheffield (BSc in Geography and Maths), then completed the Msc in Medical Statistics at Lancaster University. Prior to starting the PhD in ScHARR she worked as a Medical Statistician in the Health e-Research Centre at the University of Manchester. In this post she researched pragmatic trial designs and the external validity of trials. In particular, she focused on the design of point-of-care trials that use routinely collected data, with an evaluation of the Trials within Cohorts (TwiCs) design.
