PoPSTER, a mixed methods study, commissioned by NIHR HTA (£187k) to explore treatment preferences for ulcerative colitis started in November 2018. Headed up by Professor Alan Lobo, Consultant Gastroenterologist from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, this project is a collaboration with ScHARR, University of Liverpool and Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals. The research will be completed over the next two years, involving a survey of clinical practice, qualitative interviews and discrete choice experiments with healthcare professionals and people with ulcerative colitis. The aim is to make recommendations for treatments to be tested in future randomised controlled trials.
