Public Involvement is an essential part of the development of research applications. Research funders such as the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the Medical Research Council expect meaningful public involvement in the design and conduct of the research.
It is important for all our researchers to have knowledge of Public Involvement and access to support and guidance when required. We now have a ScHARR Public Involvement group which has representation from all sections across the School. The group will meet quarterly and provide a platform to share best practice, raise any issues, challenges and identify support needs across the School. It also provides opportunity to decrease duplication of effort and increase efficiency overall.
Samaira Khan the Public Involvement lead for the NIHR Research Design Service for Yorkshire and the Humber has been appointed ScHARR's public involvement lead and will chair this group. Dan Beever and Fiona Allsop are also members from DTS and will ensure queries or issues from DTS are discussed.
For more information or if you have any questions please contact Samaira Khan.
