Second Sight: An Interactive Look at Blindness and Visual Impairment’ is a new staff development course being offered to all staff across the university. The course aims to build staff confidence in assisting those who are blind or visually impaired, whether they are students or other members of staff. While raising awareness of blindness and visual impairment, the course also provides a space where open discussion, questions, and curiosities are not only welcomed, but encouraged.

The course is facilitated by Heather Dakin (ScHARR), a member of staff who has been severely sight impaired since birth, and who has studied and worked in both the U.S. and the U.K. She is also the author of the blog ‘Living the Dream’ which can be found at either:
