The EMHeP project
Mental illness has a significant impact on individuals, society and the economy.
This research will analyse the efficiency, cost and quality of mental healthcare provision. The project involves researchers from the University of York and University of Birmingham as well as researchers from the University of Sheffield.
The project undertaken at the University of Sheffield will assess which aspects of quality, (for example waiting time for an appointment) are valued by mental health service users, mental healthcare professionals and the general public. We will produce weights for different aspects of quality that may be then used to assess efficiency of mental healthcare services.
As part of the project will also examine the relationship between two measures of outcomes used in mental healthcare (ReQoL and HoNOS).
