Systematic reviewing

Systematic reviews have been an important part of HEDS’s expertise for many years. We currently have 17 reviewers working on a wide range of projects. Much of our work programme informs health policy at the national level through our work for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) and the Department of Health. We also produce reviews for the pharmaceutical industry, the National Health Service and other customers. Much of our work, including our reviews for the international Cochrane Collaboration, contributes to excellence in health care worldwide.

Types of reviews

The types of reviews we undertake include:

HEDS systematic reviewers work closely with the team of information specialists in ScHARR, decision analytic modellers and statisticians. HEDS runs a short course on systematic reviewing. For more information contact Andrea Shippam.
