Title of Research
Predictors of uptake of Skilled Birth Attendance among women in areas served by a Maternal & Child Health intervention in Kano, northern Nigeria
I became a student of University of Sheffield in 2012. Before then
I began my career with Pre-Registration Internship at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Kaduna Nigeria between Jan. 1992 – Jan. 1993. I then proceeded to Taraba State for the mandoatory National Youth Service between May 1993 and April 1994. Following that, I became a Medical Officer at Kauna Specialist Hospital & Centre for Reproductive & Family health between April and Dec. ‘94.
I underwent my Residency training at the Dept. of Community Health, Jos University Teaching Hospital Nigeria during the period 1997 and 2000.
I then took up an appointment as lecturer 1with the Department of Community Medicine, Bayero University Kano between 2003 and 2006. Between 2005 and Feb 2010, I was the Head of Department.
I was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in October 2006 until 2009, when I was promoted to a Reader; a rank I held between 2009 and 2012 when I got promoted to Professor of Public Health with effect from October 2012. I am also a visiting Professor to the Department of Community Medicine, Kaduna State University, Nigeria.
